Context
of the project : Mission
Enfance has been working in Iraqi
Kurdistan for the last 19 years.
Emergency, reconstruction of schools
and villages, have given the association
expertise on this region. The actual
situation of Iraq and notably the
one of Iraqi Kurdistan, with the
massive arrival of the population
fleeing from terror in Mossul and
Baghdad, encourages Mission Enfance
to pursue its support to this region.
The economical situation of Iraqi
Kurdistan is still difficult in
this context. After years of isolation,
the population needs to be trained
to basic professions, in order to
stop the depopulation and allow
the young people to find work.
We have already constructed four
professional training centres, and
have the project of constructing
a weaving workshop in the collective
village of Sheladizeh, for the Iraqi
women recently back from exile in
Iran. The equipment and functioning
of these centres are fully taken
in charge by the Barzani Foundation.
We are louching the new start of
beekeeping in the Kurd villages,
by free training to 20 peasants
in our training centres.
We will be supporting the families
which have run away from the massacres
perpetrated in Bagdad and Mosul,
and taken refuge in the town of
Qaraqosh, where they arrived with
nothing and traumatised.
Aim of project :
Restart the local initiative of
the young people in the collective
village of Sheladizeh, allowing
them professional training, and
give a future to the women of this
region.
Description
of project : Build
a 500 m² Professional Training
Centre, of 4 classrooms, a director's
office, a hall, warehouses. The
same will be done for the carpet
weaving workshop.
