PROFESSIONAL
AND SPORTIVE TRAINING
OF THE AMENIAN YOUTH AND PHYSICALLY DISABLED
|
Context
: One of the main
difficulty in Armenia is giving
Armenians work possibilities. The
Government has created a hundred
universities since the independence
of the country, but 68 % of students
are unemployed today. In 2010, we
have created a professional training
school in Koghb, in collaboration
with the local authorities. The
city hall of Koghb has taken on
the equipment and functioning expenses
of the centre. This village of 6.000
inhabitants, located far North-East
of the country (Azerbaijan and Georgia’s
border) lives in total isolation,
and gets no support from the Government
of Erevan. In 2011, we pursue our
support to this village, by constructing
a Sports training centre for the
handicapped of the 19 villages of
the region. The mayor of the village
has taken the engagement to finance
the equipment and functioning expenses
of this future centre.
Concerning sponsoring, many young
people are attending universities
today, thanks to the support given
by Mission Enfance’s sponsors.
Our team of 6 people work in Erevan,
the capital, in our French-speaking
game and toy library, as in the
rest of Armenia, by handing out,
each year, over 2.000 school kits,
to the most isolated schools and
by rehabilitating the school devices
of the country.
Control
: A monthly report
(financial and activity) is sent
to the head office. A control mission
takes place once a year. Finally,
the local team is formed of people
with 17 years of experience (a coordinator,
a logistician, a youth leader and
two teachers).
Coordination
: Our projects are
coordinated with the Board of Education
and the Department of Social Affairs.
Amongst other reasons, the choice
of the schools to be rehabilitated
is made in relation with the local
authorities in order to be assured
that this investment will get in
return a backup concerning teachers
and governmental means to perpetuate
our effort.
Each of our projects is carried
out directly by our local team.
The school kits distributions are
done hand to hand, the equipments
of game and toy libraries and school
buildings’ rehabilitation
are done under the responsibility
of our logistician in coordination
with the villagers.

In Armenia, country subject
to cold, darkness and an
embargo from its neighbours,
the needs are immense.
After having started in
this country with an emergency
mission in 1993, Mission
Enfance's action was orientated
towards the rehabilitation
of school buildings, the
distribution of school kits

thanks to sponsors, of two
educational centres in the
town of Gyumri (destroyed
